There are a number of organisations that can help young people with housing issues:
Maternity Grant: One off payment of £500 to claimant or partner who are expecting a child who are in receipt of qualifying benefit and where there are no other children in the family under the age of 16. The grant can be applied for within 11 weeks of expected birth date or up to 3 months after the birth.

Calderdale Council – (Children and Young Peoples Service)
Section 17 funding: Money is used to provide assistance and alleviate need for families with children. Scope of an award is wide and dependent on the family’s needs. Section 17 payments are also made to help meet the needs of family where child is placed with them.
Families with sick or disabled children: Offers financial assistance via a grants system to families with long term sick or disabled children in all four corners of the Yorkshire region. These grants can be used to pay for medical treatment or equipment, essential home modifications or a short family holiday for not just the disabled child, but mum, dad and any siblings too.

Calderdale Youth Services
Council funded as part of Children and Young Peoples Services. Support / signposting agents to relevant agencies etc for 12-26 year olds.
Small items grant: Can meet items such as: beds / bedding, white goods, washers where there are health or mobility issues / setting up home grants / childrens clothing in crisis stuation / items or sevices critical to the well being of children and young people. Must be additional need other than hardship.

Student / trainee programme: Student / trainee programme: For people aged 16-20 with severe social problems or estranged form parents. Grants for funding courses / equipment / living expenses to enable vulnerable individual to remain in education.
